  • {blasts of hurry}

    If you notice a gray leather Honda Odyssey van seat attached to my butt please don’t stare…
    it’s kinda become a permanent fixture on me recently! :)

    I think I’ve traveled thousands of miles in the last few months -
    and mainly within my own city limits!!

    All of which came to a somewhat fitting climatical crazy conclusion this past weekend…
    with the kids play finishing up~

    and a wonderfully sweet time away with friends~.

    {thanks you three for making it so special}

    But. Now.
    I was kinda sorta wanting, hoping, looking forward to just BE-ing at home this week.
    No place to have to rush out the door to.

    Then Ben reminded me…

    Football practice starts tonight .. and will be every night for the next two weeks!

    Which means sometime between now and then we need to come up with some new practice pants and cleats..
    his old ones are too small, resembling more like bikers shorts than pants and the cleats were already way tight last year!

    Kate asked this morning what time her piano lesson was.. oh, yeah. Forgot I moved those to Monday’s again!

    And I have a midwives appointment sometime today too between all that … gotta find out when. :)

    I find myself chuckling a little inside that I thought this week would be different from the others -

    Hellow Monday. Hellow Life. Right?

    It comes with the territory of being a mom, I know.. the feeling your feet are moving before you even leave your bed! Whether you have older ones that need running around or little ones that you chase around. Dishes to be washed for the umpteen time or discipline to give for the umpteen time. Laundry that seems to grow or little legs that are doing the same! There is just never ending AcTivitY.

    Sitting on the side of my bed this morning I found my heart step up a beat as it sometimes does at that sense of overwhelming responsibility within my home and the constant going on’s outside my home… blasting out the door a few minutes late, driving like mad, dodging mailboxes, sending flare prayers, and reciting Wendy’s drive thru orders in my sleep.  And as I felt that sob of tired emotion begin to set in at the,  “Can I make it through this day?” thoughts that started cropping up in my head, I remembered the verse of this song we sang in church yesterday~

    Hidden in the hallow {ah, how that word “hidden” appeals to me}
    of His blessed hand.
    Never foe can follow {ever feel you have foes following you around? like exhaustion or fear or maybe real live people!}
    Never traitor stand
    Not a surge of worry {Surge – 1. a movement of or like that of a mass of water; violent rolling, sweeping, or swelling motion: the surge of the sea.2.a sudden, sharp increase of electric current or voltage in a circuit. oh yeah… I’ve been experiencing some “surging” round here today!}
    Not a shade of care {not even the slightest shadow of a concern}
    Not a blast of hurry {and do I get this one! Mrs.BlastofHurry herself}
    Touch the spirit there

    maN! how I long for that hidden,blessed,foe-less,traitor-less,surge-less,shade-less,blast-less place of rest for my soul.

    The chorus goes on and tells me where to find it – -

    Stayed upon Jehovah
    Hearts are fully blest
    Finding as He promised
    Perfect {love that word – - many illusions of peace but only in Him}
    Peace and Rest.

    Seeking to Be Stayed regardless of circumstances.

  • oh, and to you, down_onthefarm…at least you can have some style with what you claim is stuck on your behind…toyota sienna, aka swaggerwagon ? yep, check out the youtube video here:(http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pUG3Z8Hxa5I) on them, and you’ll know you are the coolest. i promise. ;O)

  • I saw your title, and immediately went to the song you quoted – my husband’s favorite hymn.  Just think… when you’re 50 like me, you will remember those days as fun days, forgetting the harried, “oh, no! Here we go again” feelings that were really there at the time!!  I think I miss those baseball practice/4-H meeting/Homeschool fieldtrip, “oh, yeah, we have to have school” days!!

    Hope you have a fun day that is indeed stayed upon Jehovah!

  • The drama turned out well I see. Never seen such a pretty dirty girl before!! :)

    That photo of the three great minds is so AMAZING!! Totally adore them girls. Thanks for taking that green dress and RocKeN it!! lol You are super cool, super sweet and I count it a GIFT to know you. <3 ~ Di

  • I continue to pray for the baby you are carrying, and I also pray for your daily strength. You have lots going on, but pregnancy tends to demand those fresh brain cells, doesn’t it?

    Make lists. Make lists from your lists!

    Not only will you know what comes next, you can joyfully scratch through each item and give yourself a pat on the back at night, when you review all that you’ve done! Hugs from Okie-ville! xo xo xo

  • aw girl, this post almost brought tears to my eyes.  imagine that on me aye?

    I also gotta run… am doing an overnight with my very own “Restorer” and can hardly take how God has been soo very good to me in blessing me with a great time with friends and now a night away with my very favorite guy.  I shall enjoy it while he’s dumping because i know the rain is very real most times.

    And for some odd reason, i don’t have a hard time picturing a silver streak heading down the road.  :)   Any mascara smudges on the windows?????

  • You are so blessed. Sometimes we can feel so busy but that’s okay isn’t it?  We’ve been blessed with work to do!

  • Hi girl!!  sorry I haven’t been on here in forever!!!  How are you??  Looks like the play was just awesome..how proud you must be!!!!

  • Sounds like you are busy but happy.  Glad things are going well & that the kids are able to experience such good things!

  • I dont even DRIVE to work (I work from home) and have managed to put 800 miles on my van in 2 weeks!!!! Imagine that!!!! Haven’t even left the state- much less the county! So, I have Honda Odyssey seats on my hiney too! :)

    Love the pictures. :)

  • How can your group pic look so ‘quiet’? ( : I instantly heard all the noise!

    Your life sounds quite exciting – just remember that there will be years of not having as much to do! ( : Until then just embrace the ‘honda odyssey hiney’ – it looks great on you just like everything else you put on. ( :

    I really have no business being on here either – but I find myself coming back to it, just to feel connected to these wonderful women who I have come to LOVE so dearly!
    Bless you sweetie – hope your week goes as well as possible! mj

  • Nice! Thanks for sharing!

  • <3 If you need help, you have my number. Love you!!

  • somehow, i get the feeling that if in fact, you did have a honda seat attached to your butt, you would totally rock the look and make it look really fabulous.
    your kids are cUte.
    and. that group photo–we all look so… quiet. and womanly?

  • The play looks great! Hope to hear more about your weekend. Praying for you dear mommy. You wear that seat well!!

  • Looks like fun weekend! I like the words to the song.

  • Hey, how’s come I didn’t know about the xanga ladies get together???? I know many of those ladies in the photo – would have been fun to see you again! Praying for peace, a calm heart and mind – it’s been crazy here too :( don’t like it much cause time goes too fast and don’t have much time to reflect and process it all – flying by the seat of our pants :) I guess we’re all as busy as we make it for ourselves though. Blessings on your week

  • You know, 2 years ago we took a break from all the running around. I was so tired of not having ONE night to be at home eating together as a family. But now…I kind of miss all the running around and the places to go. Music lessons, dance lessons, church and homeschool activities… I’m letting the girls start back some activities this fall and I am actually looking forward to once again sitting and waiting for some kind of practice to be over

  • I sat here and just s-t-a-r-e-d at that group picture….couldn’t help but have a big ol’ grin spread across my face.  How could they be new friends and yet I feel such deep “stuff” for each woman in that photo?

    Loved spending time with you IRL!
    {{{{hugs}}}} – from a very mature woman!  ;)

    sounds like you’ve got a busy journey ahead for the summer. glad that there are moments when things just come together and you are able to laugh. there is something about hymns that just gets me every time. i think its because some of my earliest memories of the church are the songs that were sung, early choruses and hymns and when i hear them these days they often bring tears to my eyes and a surge of peace to my heart…there is so much history in the Lord’s leading and guiding in them. thank you for sharing about what’s going on in your world. looks like an amazing play. do the kids get a chance to do that all the time. i love watching productions that kids put on…they do such a tremendous job. some of the best things i’ve seen have been done in highschools, not by paid actors but kids who ADORED what they were doing.

  • @wj3km -

    ugg. sorry :/ i know the girls who planned it wished everyone could have been included.. they were kinda limited w/ space, etc. and i think ended up being surprised w/ how many did come and how much interest there was. i’m sure there’ll be a next time.. and probably a BIGGER house! :) i met some xanga women here in ohio i didn’t realize were here.. we should meet up w/ them in Columbus some time this summer. that would be fuN. or at the very least.. you and i have to do that lunch date at some point! :)

  • @mytoesareblue -

    the kids usually do a play in the summer w/ a christian theater group from our area.. it’s been such a great learning experience for them. and i agree w/ you.. i loVe watching these young kids on the stage. so much enthusiasm and passion in what they’re doing. Le Miz was a wonderfully challenging show about alot of deeper {even darker} issues of life. had some good conversation w/ the kids as a result. :)

  • looks like a fun get together!
    summer is slipping by way too fast for my liking. i’ve got several more projects i desperately need to get done before school gets going AGAIN. :(
    Have a great week!

  • yes, football here we come :) started last week here. Wish we could carpool together eh? ;) wonderful theatre pics – the kids look great!
    Missed the flipflop event, but so wanted to come. Just coudn’t fit it in this year, and well, it wasn’t within driving distance for me ~ :) looks like a great group of women – have met some and been so delighted!
    Have a great week! It’s worth the carseat to the butt in investing in the kiddos God has given. I’m so grateful for all that driving around my mom did for me…

  • Neat pictures of your group of friends…thanks for your comments, we are so glad to have Eric at home again and to see what direction the lord is leading him to….blessings…Mike

  • The drama looks like a lot of fun for them, and football, I’m sure your young man is looking forward to that!  We have another all star ball tournament this weekend, and once that’s all done, I think we’re good for a little while.  The blog party looks like a lot of fun.  That’s great that you got to get away for awhile.  I just got home from being with a group of friends tonight, and it’s refreshing to get away now and then and just have a fun girls time.  In response to your question, Yes, I am feeling a lot better, thanks!  At times I still have a little cough, and keep taking allergy meds, but it’s much much better than it was, PTL.

  • Would have loved to have seen the play ~

  • Loved seeing the group picture! What a beautiful group of women!! Makes me try to imagine what it must have been like to all be together – so many great minds, so much to offer each other! Can’t wait to hear about it. :)

    And looks like your kids did an awesome job in the drama! How proud you must be of them! There is nothing like your own kids to make love well up in your heart so big it hurts. :)

  • I started laughing before I’d gotten through the first paragraph. After this weekend I am convinced you could attach an Odyssey van seat to your behind and make the look rock. :) So, so much fun getting to know you this weekend ……….. that might be the understatement of the year! love~

  • Ok. So I said that I wouldn’t stare at your Honda accessories ( gray’s a good color for you) …but I am laughing!!!

    And wondering. Is MaryKay make-up hard to scrub off of van windows? ;)
    I’ve found that not everyone at those MK demos are really there to listen and learn…
    noticed that it seemed to be more about food and laughing alot instead…

    Sweet photos of a.m.a.z.i.n.g. women…love each individual…new friends that are the FOREVER kind.

    I think it’s so cool that your kids were in Les Mis! Hope that it went well! The photos are great…even tho’ I can’t see Ben’s chewed up shoes!
    We have alot of drama participants around here. Just not anything organized that people would buy tickets to see.

    His blessings in your blasts.
    love you sweet friend.

  • i love the group pic :) and the one of Lisa, Audrey, and becky is Adorable!

    great post!

  • I’ve got an envoy stuck to mine this week, work, dr appts, VBS, and on and on and on!!!

    @foreveranoatneygirl -

    I have that posted on my facebook . . . lol

  • @totallycherished -

    haha! ohhhh… that’s one of my “cringe moments” from the weekend. :/ what a beautiful beautiful person you are~ and i’m so glad to know not nearly as “mature” as i thought. heehee. love you.

  • @Hutch5 - NO need to cringe, amber.  laughing with you!
