{isa.26:3}
“You keep {guard.protect.conceal.hide.watch over} him
in perfect peace {free from anxiety}
whose mind is stayed {fastened securely} on you,
because he trusts {confident. sure of. made to hope} in you.
Peace is not about changing our circumstances~
but seeing God change us as a result of them.
Do you have a Scripture verse that’s been on your heart lately?

I love this one:
“Listen to Me, you who follow after righteousness,
You who seek the LORD:
Look to the rock from which you were hewn,
And to the hole of the pit from which you were dug. (Isaiah 51:1)
And I love your site, thanks for sharing :)
We’ve had this one on our chalkboard for the past week, and keeping it up a bit longer!
“In EVERYTHING give thanks; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” 1 Thes. 5:1
It’s His will for us to give thanks! Whether we want to or not, that’s His will! Cute pictures of Emma. Love how you did this post. =)
I don’t have one, but I need one that assures me that this week is survivable . . . I’m having doubts . . . lol
beautiful my friend
I don’t know where my bible is because I am still in the midst of many boxes as the result of a major move-but here is what I found on biblegateway.com which fits well into my life from Philippians 2:
14 Do all things without complaining and disputing, 15 that you may become blameless and harmless, children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world, 16 holding fast the word of life, so that I may rejoice in the day of Christ that I have not run in vain or labored in vain.
I love that scripture!
My husband quoted this in church this morning when talking about assurance ~ Psalm 118:8 ~ “It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man.”
beautiful! love the peace and comfort Scripture brings
this is so comforting “Peace is not about changing our circumstances~
but seeing God change us as a result of them.”
Psalm 139:7-9
Where can I go from your Spirit?Where can I flee from your presence?If I go up to the heavens, you are there;
if I make my bed in the depths, you are there.If I rise on the wings of the dawn,if I settle on the far side of the sea,
even there your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast
He has shown you, O man, what is good; And what does the Lord require of you but to do justly, to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God. Michah 6:8
It seems so straight forward…to do these few things and the rest will follow.
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him and he will make your paths straight. Prov. 3:5 (I think)
“Though the fig tree does not bud and there are no grapes on the vines, though the olive crop fails and the fields produce no food, though there are no sheep in the pen and no cattle in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will be joyful in God my Savior. The Sovereign Lord is my strength; he makes my feet like the feet of a deer, he enables me to go on the heights.” (Habakkuk 3:17-19)
I love this verse and I have many times taken it and paraphrased it with what is going on in my life at the moment. For instance, “Though there is not much money in the checking account and the bills are looming high….things like that.
love verse 4 of chapter 6 too –
“Trust in the Lord forever: for in the Lord JEHOVAH is everlasting strength.”
a friend was telling me that the name Jehovah there means ‘He Causes To Become.’ i like that. it reminded me God is never finished with us – always working, molding, teaching us to BECOME like Him.
I recently stuck this one on my computer. “My grace is sufficient for you, for my POWER is made perfect in weakness.” 2 Cor. 12:9
I read your post last night, but my heart was so full of hurt feelings (read – feeling sorry for myself) that even though I knew God was speaking peace to me right here on Xanga, I wouldn’t hear Him. He is so wonderful and true, and simply kept drawing me toward Him all night. I’ve come back to thank you for posting the verse I needed to hear, and to post this one:
Psalm 68:19 – Blessed is the Lord, Who daily loadeth us with benefits, even the God of our Salvation.
These are VERY familiar verses but lately they have taken on special meaning for me because I feel like I finally “got” them.
Proverbs 3: 5,6 “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart, and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him…and He shall direct thy paths.”
This post is so pretty!
Amber, Have you heard the song “Perfect Peace” sung/written by Laura Story? If not, look it up! It goes right along w/this verse.
I TOO have been clinging to verses about peace…..His “peace that passes all understanding.”
God is faithful and I’m thankful HIS mercies are NEW every morning!! Great is His Faithfulness!
I see I have missed a few posts…I will have to come back and read…right now I HAVE to go meet my big kids at the beach. Tough huh?
We love the verse, ” encourage one another and build each other up”. Good to remember in this world that likes the put-down.
I just read this in Zechariah 4:6 “Not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit says the Lord of hosts.”
One of the scriptures I remind myself often while living this wonderful, sometimes scary, faith filled missionary life is from Matthew 6:32. I love it in NLT. “Your heavenly Father already knows all your needs.” He really does. Really. Not only does He know them, but He is able to meet them. Really. Really!
I am SO GLAD for that!
“And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.”
@aprescott -
just had someone rec. her a few posts ago~ and merideth andrews?? i’d kinda forgotten.. but when ya hear it from a couple ppl you know it must be good. gonna jot it down this time so i’m sure to remember – my brain’s not all there lately.;) always like finding new music… sometimes i feel like i’m stuck on the same old same old. nothing wrong w/ that – cause i like my favorites. just like new too.
@ABAHM -
tough indeed!! :p
One of my favorites…..Psalms 16:8 “I have set the Lord continually before me, because He is at my right hand I will not be shaken.” I have used this verse many times in the midst of times when I was shaking in my boots! The Word works!
“He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress; my God in whom I trust.” Psalm 91:1
How beautiful to read through the verses whlie your site music plays in the background. I find my heart is ministered to tonight.
My verse is from Romans, ” For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels or demons, neither the present or the future nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. – Romans 8:35–39
Great photos of the beauty! She looks a lot like Ben in the last photo!
Which by the way, the gas station dictation was too funny. Laughed when Kate said that the man was creeping her out! HAHAHAHA
Great post with that one too.
Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.
Hebrews 4:16
Your post spoke to my heart today, thanks!
kept.stayed.peace. that’s who HE is, why is it so hard to remember?
Just this week i re-discovered this vs. in Ecclesiastes 8:17:
I realized that no one can discover everything God is doing under the sun. Not even the wisest people discover everything, no matter what they claim.
Reminded again that God doesn’t need a reason for what HE does. But my reasoning certainly needs God.
Loved this and reading peoples vs.’s was a blessing to me this morning.
it is Isaiah 43:19 for me right now.
“I am doing a new thing! Can you SEE it…”
