  • {update}

Gramps came through surgery brilliantly. His heart is beating strong.

The night was rough though… he stopped breathing twice.
But this morning things look good -
and he’s even responding with a move of his hand to questions asked.

Thank you so, so much for all the prayers…
I told my Grams that people were praying all over the world and she said,
“Well you tell them I’m so grateful. I can feel it. And please keep it up!”

Remember how I said that every artery was blocked… and one 70%?
Well, the doctor said once they were operating they discovered a very tiny artery -
“nearly hidden,” were his words – way back in the heart….
It was working 100% and probably,  “the very reason he’s alive.”

Thank you little hidden artery doing your job, pumping away. : )

It reminded me when things look bleak, without hope…
GOD SEES what is hidden to us, and sends help through sometimes small and seemingly unimportant ways {life lines} to save us and keep us going!

“In my despair I cried unto Him, and the Lord heard me.. and answered me.”

Last night when I called Grams to check on her she answered the phone, and said-
“Hey, baby girl… we’ve still got him!”

    That made me cry…
tears of joy. tears of praise.

    “We’ve still got him!”
    love those words. : )

“If we have seen the miraculous workings of God in some marvelous case of healing or some extraordinary providential deliverance, I am sure the thing that has impressed us most has been the quietness with which it was all done, the absence of everything spectacular and sensational, and the utter sense of nothingness which came to us as we stood in the presence of this mighty God and felt how easy it was for Him to do it all without the faintest effort on His part or the slightest help on ours.”

hope to post some of other life going on around here soon. there’s been so much happening….

    Recitals for piano and ballet
    Decorating with spray paint
Killing deer (though not by us)
And little children crying while Shayne and I tried to sing..
hmm.. yes, well… we might not post about that come to think of it! ; )

hope your Friday is a great one.

    Love~

  • Glad he’s hanging in there! the decorating with spray paint sounds fun! can’t wait to hear about it!

  • Good news indeed! Your little artery analogy made me think that it’s not just what God see’s hidden “to” us but also what is hidden “in” us. Once we’ve accepted His grace through surrendering to Jesus Christ, that no matter how badly we fail and think there is nothing in us that is any good…there is something good and vital…that powerful lifeline (to Him) that has been sealed (and cannot be blocked by all our missteps) unto the day of redemption.

I’m so happy for you Amber and all the family that you’ve still got Grandpa! Peace be with you~Dawne

  • He’ll continue to be in my prayers – just prayed for him again before my dinner!

Is that a picture of YOUR tree (meaning, you are getting around to taking care of your OWN house!)?????

  • Hi Amber, I light a candle for your grandfather,  and  for your dear grandmother too.It makes us sad to watch how very old people have to go through these hard medical procedures, but they will when willing to survive.  You be strong now…like you can, my dear friend.

This is how I’ve felt lately….. and it does inspire a sense of awe and wonder. It is God who does the work! Sooooooo very happy that He did that work for your Grampa!
    Love you, Friend!!!

  • I came by to say hello and how I thought of you and why, when I was sitting in church on Sunday…
But now I am totally sidetracked by  Suzyquekau‘s comment above and I am just laughing here!
Is that too funny or what?

    Both, maybe.
    :P

    Funny and the or what.
Let’s talk about what the or what is :) lol!

I met Sue a couple of years ago at a xanga picnic in the area ( In The Area meaning that there was only one crazy person who drove 3 hours one way to be there while everyone else lived within minutes of each other…now who could that be??? ) Sue is a great person with a totally enjoyable, dry and quirky sense of humor. So glad that she knows Amber too! :)

  • oops. got sidetracked and now I am running out of time.
    be back.

  • @Suzyquekau -

thanks for the message. just got done answering. :)

  • We are so delicately and uniquely formed……and to think that our GOD who is the author of details formed that tiny artery that may have seemed so insignificant to be a LIFEsaver to your precious grandfather. Praise Him! We are definitely in His hands, all the time.

  • @Hutch5 - Now you have to let me in on how you guys know each other!  Did you meet on xanga like Cindy and I did, or did you know each other some other way?  My curiosity is KILLING me!  =)))

  • @Suzyquekau -

through xanga… but she’s someone I feel I’ve known my whole life. :) maybe I have in essence since we’re so much alike. ;)
